As the Lionel Messi transfer episode continues in Spain, his No.10 shirt at Barcelona could be up for grabs this summer, Spanish paper, Marca reports.
Should the Argentine get his wish to leave the club, there’s already one player who’s staked a claim to wear his number at the Camp Nou.
According to 20 minutos, Martin Braithwaite has asked to be given the No.10 shirt should Messi not be at the club next season.
The Dane, who currently wears No.19, only arrived from Leganes earlier this year and has a contract with the Catalans until 2024.
While with Leganes, Braithwaite had the No.25 shirt and more recently the No.7 jersey, and during his time at Middlesbrough he wore the No.10.
In the last few weeks, the forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
